Futures up before earnings onslaught, differences narrow on stimulus

will have clarity on whether we will be able to pass a bill before the
election. The two principals will speak again tomorrow and staff work
will
continue around the clock."
- U.S. stock index futures climbed around 0.6% overnight following the
announcement, after suffering a broad decline during Monday's session. It
marked the fourth down day in five for the Dow and the S&P 500, while it
was the fifth-straight negative session for the Nasdaq.
- Meanwhile, earnings season kicks into high gear today, headlined by
results from Procter & Gamble, Snap and Netflix. On the data front,
housing
starts and building permits for September will both be released at 8:30
a.m. ET.
