Tesla tops Q1 deliveries expectations

- Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA) says it produced 180,338 vehicles in Q1 and
delivered 184,800 vehicles to top the consensus expectation for 168K.
That
consensus mark had been pushed lower over the last few weeks on concerns
over supply chain slowdowns.
- The company says it is encouraged by the strong reception of the Model
Y in China and is quickly progressing to full production capacity. The
new
Model S and Model X are said to have been exceptionally well received,
with
the new equipment installed and tested in Q1. Tesla notes that it is in
the
early stages of ramping production.
- "Our delivery count should be viewed as slightly conservative, as we
only count a car as delivered if it is transferred to the customer and
all
paperwork is correct. Final numbers could vary by up to 0.5% or more."
