Biden unveils $1.9T stimulus plan
- S&P 500 futures (NYSEARCA:SPY)-0.3% after Pres.-elect Joe Biden
announced
details of his $1.9T stimulus plan, which includes an increase the
federal minimum wage to $15/hour.
- Biden's proposal includes $1,400 direct payments to many Americans -
adding to the $600 checks issued under the last congressional stimulus
bill
- raising federal supplemental unemployment payments to $400/week from
$300
currently and extending them through September, and extending federal
moratoriums on evictions and foreclosures through September.
- The plan also calls for $350B in aid to state and local governments,
and $70B for COVID-19 testing and vaccination programs.
- Addressing the costs of his plan, Biden says "we will pay for them by
